In November 2012, Autism Speaks highlighted iCommunicate as an App Spotlight, recognizing its utility in supporting communication needs. The application offers a versatile platform for designing visual schedules, storyboards, communication boards, routines, flashcards, choice boards, and speech cards, with extensive customization options tailored to individual requirements.

Key features include:

• Ability to record personalized audio for images and boards
• Sharing capabilities via email and iTunes File Sharing
• Integration of various iOS Text to Speech Voices, covering multiple languages and dialects, including Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (various regions), Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish (Mexico and Spain), Swedish, Thai, and Turkish
• Options to incorporate user-selected images through photography or online search
• Access to over 10,000 SymbolStix symbols provided by N2Y at no additional cost

The app supports two types of boards:

1. 4x10 configuration—up to four images across by ten down (others formats such as 2x2 or 4x4 are possible)
2. Task Completion mode—displays one picture at a time with swipe navigation; includes functionality for marking completion with checkmarks (single finger) or do-not symbols (two fingers), along with automatic progression and optional audio feedback

Additional features include printing via AirPrint or email sharing of boards, an app lock feature to prevent unwanted modifications, and universal compatibility across iOS devices.

It is noteworthy that this version of iCommunicate is functionally identical to the previously released version but has been updated to be universal. This allows existing users who purchased the app earlier to install it across all their iOS devices.
